Canary Wharf RT5 Contract Lift
Posted on by mechanicalmovements
Mechanical Movements had a very hard job to undertake @ Canary Wharf RT5 .
We started setting out for this job on Friday due to the fact that RT5 is built on piles so the crane rigger pans had to be placed to the millimeter (this is to insure point loading is correct due to the concrete being very thin)
Once all rigging pans are set out we were able to rig both cranes ready for lifting at 6am Saturday morning.
We had to use two mobile cranes . One which was a 100 tonne to offload and build the cooling towers, which came on wide loads and in three sections per tower.
Once the towers were built we were able to lift the 13000 kg towers to roof level with the 200 tonne crane.( in total there were 12 sections which make up 4 BAC cooling towers)
Please see page 10 – 11 in our gallery for photos of the lift.
I would like to thank all the guys that where involved with this job and i would like to thank Canary Wharf for making this job happen.
