Primrose Street Chiller Change Over Saturday 27th

Mechanical Movements have undertaken a project that other companies chose not do because Cranage was not an option .
Our MD was asked if we could offer a solution to carry out this work which involved lifting the old and new equipment 70 m, without the use of a crane .
Please see Gallery pages 7 8 9
We came up with the idea of building a scaffolding that was counter balanced over the edge of the building and therefore able to lift the weights required.
The electric hoists we used were able to lift 2000 kg’s up 70 m
We decommissioned the old chillers with our F-Gas engineers and then dismantled them into smaller sections enabling us to lower the sections down from roof level.
We were able to lower down and lift up 70 m with out the wind being a factor by using 2 wire bonds attached to 500 kg weights at ground level. Therefore no sideways movement.
The new pipe modules were lifted first and placed in position for bolting together ready for the two new chillers to go in.
I would like to thank all at Mechanical Movements who worked hard to complete this job . A very very happy client.
